But I just recently experienced the dreaded flashing redlight. I tried all the simple trouble shooting and no success. I have the launch model 60 gb. I have an external intercooler on mine, but I just been reading on fixes and people have said NEVER use a intercooler. Uh oh. There a few things I've done that may contribute to it is switching it off when it freezes, switching it off when I'm down playing without letting it cool down beforehand, and not routinely clean it from dust. And the mods that I did was the intercooler and the upgraded hard drive. So it just didn't all of sudden happen. I turned it on for the first time that day to play. I tried logging onto to EA server to play madden twice. The system automatically shuts off. I thought it was the game or the server. So I turned it on once more, but it froze at the start up screen. Then it never turned on again. It would hear the fan starting up, then beeps 3 time, and then starting flashing. I tried letting it cool off, but still nothing. Being so frustrated, I tried doing the "reflow" like this video I found on youtube. So right now, I've disassembled it and now I have all the parts laying on the flow. Gonna try and hope for the best. I'll update you guys.

Anyways, besides sharing my story...I wanted to know if anyone has been successful at fixing the ps3 on your own. If yes, pls let me know.
